In lieu of the Darren Wilson announcement tonight, I figured I’d post something my dad said to me a couple weeks ago:

The problem with the world today is that we are directing our attention at the wrong things. We are getting our rights stripped away, and all people are focused on is Kim’s butt all because she has taken her 15 seconds of fame and stretched it into $49 million.

All these networks like MTV and BET show is music videos and award shows. Reality shows are taking over. Even The History Channel has reality shows. But no one is concerned about what’s really going on in the world. We are supposed to be the freest country in the world, but we are the dumbest…

WAKE UP PEOPLE.

It’s incredibly disheartening that in 2014, after all the blood, sweat, and tears our ancestors have shed to pave the way for us to be where we are today, that BEING BLACK and minding your own business in America is an unjustifiable crime.
