I’m going to tell you something that is really selfish, but oh well….

I mainly write this blog for myself.

I do, I write for myself. Contrary to what anyone may believe, I don’t write to get approval. I don’t write to get people to agree with everything I say. As a matter of fact, I love opposing opinions. I’m a sucker for a great healthy debate, so if any of you ever read something you don’t agree with or have a completely different point of view about, please, by all means, voice it in the comments….Seriously though. 🙂

I write because I like voicing my opinion and I want to have an online presence doing so. I also want to improve on my writing. And this is the best way for me to do that.

I write this blog, because when I was younger, I used to write children’s stories (I’m talking stories with chapters in them). And as I got older, I let life distract me from the things I always enjoyed doing before I had rent to pay and adult responsibilities to fulfill.

And though I love when people actually read what I write, I don’t write solely for a following. Though it would be dope to have one, I refuse to stray from who I am and how I write, to get one.

I write to get my thoughts out in my most authentic way possible which I think is hard to do nowadays. Some people want to write to cater to a particular audience. And some people like censoring themselves. Hey….whatever floats their boats..

And heck, since I don’t even think I have a particular audience at this point, at the end of the day I can only be myself and hope that in turn, someone out there maybe, just mayyybe gets something out of what I’ve written, whether it be entertainment, feeling like they’re understood, inspiration to become more outspoken, or a greater sense of self.

Sometimes I feel like everyone in the world is so busy trying to be deep, that no one is trying to be real. What’s the point of writing about life if you can’t be true to yourself?

Okay let me get off this Kanye rant ya’ll… just had to get this out.
