New York City is a trap.

New York City is filthy.

New York City is heaps of trash rolling across the sidewalk every Sunday evening.

New York City is the reason they say “Goodnight, don’t let the bed bugs bite.”

New York City is rats…millions hidden, several scurrying around the tunnels of the subway.

New York City is spending all the money you could be using to pay off your student loans on sky-high rent.

New York City is splitting $3200 rent for a 2 bedroom, 1 bath 600 sq. foot 5 story walk up apartment with no doorman.

New York City is having a microwave as an “amenity”.

New York City is the dream, the slap and the face, and the harsh reality that sends you back where you came from.

New York City is having to move back to your parents house, solely because you can’t afford to live here.

New York City is the haves and the have-nots.

New York City is being richer than most people in the world, but poor in this city.

New York City is mothers on welfare and their kids in Jordans and Timbs.

New York City is bums, homeless people, and war vets….not to be interchangeable with each other.

New York City is bums.

New York City is bums.

New York City is bums and their “scent”, infiltrating a whole car on the subway train.

New York City is bums begging for money.

New York City is crackheads screaming down the street at no one in particular and having full conversations with themselves.

New York City is crowds in Times Square, 34th Street… every street.

New York City is claustrophobia.

New York City is rude tourists.

New York City is Europeans in Harlem on Sundays.

New York City is tourists packing the South Ferry bound 1 train every morning to go visit the Statue of Liberty.

New York City is your hour and half commute each way to work.

New York City is getting parking tickets because the street signs contradict themselves.

New York City is tolls to get in, tolls to get out.

New York City is attitudes on level 10.

New York City is brick, cold as ice.

New York City is public schools closing.

New York City is kids in 5th grade, with a 3rd grade reading level.

New York City is middle school kids with the best city smarts in the world, but no home training.

New York City is daily street harassment.

New York City is never owning, always renting.

New York City is being over worked and underpaid.

New York City is living paycheck to paycheck… and getting used to it.

New York City is pink slips.

New York City is eviction.

New York City is becoming an egg/sperm donor just to make rent.

New York City is 911.

New York City is terrorist threats.

New York City is seeing something and not saying something.

New York City is your southern hospitality turning into rudeness.

New York City is Hurricane Sandy.

New York City is police brutality.

New York City is hardcore drugs.

New York City is divorcees living lavishly off their ex-husbands income.

New York City is escorts, prostitutes, and soul-less strippers.

New York City is box cutters held under tongues, pepper spray on key chains.

New York City is homicide, kidnapping, robbery, and vandalism.

New York City is people being forced to move out their long-term homes because of gentrification.

New York City is union workers and their unjust system.

New York City is schizophrenic weather.

New York City is contagion.

New York City is germs.

New York City is corruption.

New York City is greed.

New York City is gluttony.

New York City is lust.

New York City is envy.

New York City is pride.

New York City is dishonesty.

New York City is wasteful.

New York City is struggle.

New York City is working to survive, surviving to work.

New York City is them smiling in your face and all the time they wanna take your place. #Backstabbers

New York City is them taking your place.

New York City is Darwinism.

New York City is keeping up with the Joneses.

New York City is optimism turning into skepticism.

New York City is hedonism.

New York City is narcissism.

New York City is entitlement.

New York City is fraud.

New York City is a trick.

New York City is the bish that kills your vibe.

New York City is high expectations and empty promises.

New York City is your soul being robbed and left for dead.

New York City is being 38 without a soul mate to call your own.

New York City is giving you a world of opportunity only to result in false hopes.

New York City is the concrete jungle where dreams are made of, then shattered.

New York City is a trap.
